The Utah Arts Festival promises to be biggest and best yet
Every year for the last five years, Third Sun Productions has sponsored a little something called the Utah Arts Festival that merely invites 80,000+ people to downtown Salt Lake City for music, dance, visual art, film, poetry slams and literary workshops, urban arts, and much more. In that time, we've seen the Festival grow and thrive just as the website and online presence of the Festival has grown in scope and content.
This year, we were particularly excited to have the opportunity to work with Mike Crandall of EyebrowMan Interactive, another enthusiastic and long-time supporter of the Festival, to develop and design an iPhone app for the Utah Arts Festival. The app features the the complete performing arts schedule (including literary arts and film) by day, time, stage, and genre. You can build your own personalized schedule and get some other 'how-to' info to enjoy the 4-day Festival. Plus, the app features the happy and cheerful artwork of Leia Bell, who designed several pieces, including a Salt Lake Cityscape, southern Utah view, and mountain view, for the 2010 Festival. Download the app directly from iTunes.
Here at Third Sun, we are excited about the kick-off night featuring Michelle Shocked and Cowboy Junkies as well as the funk music of Cafe R&B alongside a lot of great local bands and 140+ visual artists in the Artist Marketplace. Plus, we've heard the rumors that there will be some surprises throughout the Festival, and we definitely want to find out what that's all about.
Don't miss the fun coming to you this weekend, June 24-27, 2010! Visit the Third Sun designed website at www.uaf.org to get all the details.
